Press release: HFPA Announces Market Week Dates for 2022 and 2023
ANNOUNCEMENT
October 8, 2020
The HFPA is announcing today that the March 2021 Home Textiles Market, scheduled for March 22-25, will be held virtually.
The HFPA’s Board of Directors met yesterday to discuss the March 2021 Market and decided that we wanted to make the call to move to a virtual format now rather than push the decision out. Based on the difficult travel and tourism situation in New York that is projected to go at least into the first quarter of next year, the realization that many of the retailers will not be back in their offices until at least January, the likelihood that travel restrictions for retailers will be in place at least through the first quarter and the need for manufacturers to make decisions on showroom space and travel plans, it became apparent that postponing the decision wasn’t going to change the outcome. We have also been watching what is going on with other trade shows-the Toy Fair has moved from February to May and the Inspired Home Show has moved from March to August. All signs pointed to not being able to meet in-person in March.
While we all want to be able to return to an in-person market as soon as possible, the safety of our retailers, guests and members is our primary concern and moving the March Market to a virtual format makes the most sense at this time.
We don’t have any further information on plans for the Market and will communicate those as they become available.
Best Regards,
Jeff Kaufman
President HFPA
